Part 2 of this book showed you how to make your APIs better. The worst thing you could do would be to follow those suggestions to the letter. That would be neither possible nor generally beneficial. Suggestions are no more than suggestions. Individual API problems need individual approaches. The suggestions given in this book are based on my personal experiences within the context of the NetBeans project. It’s more than likely that other projects have different starting points. Even the slightest difference in initial factors can lead to a completely different set of suggestions. Still, the attempt to provide objective grounds for the decisions made in Part 1 is a good starting point for your own conclusions.
